Hemodynamic effects of hypervolemia with and without anemia.

چکیده
Hypervolemia was produced in dogs by infusion of matched whole blood or of red cells suspended in dextran. In the dogs which had received matched whole blood, bleeding with simnltaneous volume replacement with dextran produced acute hypervolemic anemia. This was associated with increased cardiac output, whereas no increase of cardiac output was seen in the same animals with a comparable amount of hypervoleiuia without anemia. The results suggest that anemia rather than hypervolemia was the important factor in causing an increase of cardiac output in these experiments.

متن کاملHemodynamic management of subarachnoid hemorrhage.
Hemodynamic augmentation therapy is considered standard treatment to help prevent and treat vasospasm and delayed cerebral ischemia. Standard triple-H therapy combines volume expansion (hypervolemia), blood pressure augmentation (hypertension), and hemodilution. An electronic literature search was conducted of English-language papers published between 2000 and October 2010 that focused on hemod...
متن کاملSide Effects of Hydroxyurea in Patients with Sickle Cell Anemia
Background: Hemoglobin S arises is the result of a point mutation (A-T) in the sixth codon on the -globin gene on chromosome 11 causing sickle cell anemia. The presence of fetal hemoglobin in infancy plays a relatively protective role for vaso-occlusive symptoms that are the major contributor for the morbidity and mortality among patients with sickle cell anemia. hydroxyurea, an s-phase-specif...
متن کاملThe Evaluation of Red Cell Distribution Width in Chronic Hemodialysis Patients
Background. Red cell distribution width (RDW) has been used as a marker of iron deficiency; however, it is accepted as a marker of cardiovascular survival. We aimed to study RDW levels in hemodialysis (HD) patients and the association between RDW and inflammatory, nutritional, and volume markers. Methods. We included 296 HD patients with sufficient iron storage and without anemia or hypervolemi...

Background: Despite the fact that researchers have recently turned their attention to the new style of video games with movement (exergames) and considering that these games have been recently accepted as a kind of sports activity with a wide range of people as audience of these games both male and female in various ages, not enough attentions have been paid to the comparison of different dimen...
